Importance of Diwali
Diwali, the festival of light falls on the ‘Amavasya’ when the moon is hidden and there is darkness all around. Light is the symbol of hope spread positivity and elegance in the atmosphere. The tingling flame of earthen diyaas on the terrace makes the environment lofty and charismatic. Light in every corner of our house removes the darkness on the night of Diwali. In this night people decorate their houses with small decorative bulbs, candles and diyaas.
What is Diwali
Deepavali – The initial name of the festival is symbolizing diyaa. The festival is all about lightning diyaas. Later on, Deepavali becomes Diwali as the people and the generation changes slowly from the ancient era to the modern era. Diwali is also known as ‘ festivals of light’ because on this day people decorate their houses with lights. It is celebrated usually in the month of October or November. Diwali has a special significance in the Hindu culture as well as in Sikh religion and Jains.

On this day Maa Laksmi is worshipped, worship of Ma Kali, worship of Lord Ganesha, worship of Lord Chitragupta and Lord Govardhan Parvat.
The significance of Light and Crackers
The illumination of light and cracker on this night is an expression of obeisance to the heaven for the fulfillment of health, wealth and prosperity in the life. According to the belief, the sound of crackers on this night indicates the happiness and joy of the people living on earth, making the Gods aware of their plentiful state. The fumes produced by the crackers also destroy the insects and mosquitoes present in the atmosphere.
