Prashant Kapoor’s Prediction on Cybersecurity and Microsoft Layoffs Turned True!
Financial Astrologer Mr Prashant Kapoor had predicted on how India’s Digital systems need to strengthen themselves. He also mentioned that entrepreneurs and businesses that were operating e-commerce websites and digital platforms should not base their websites completely on external sources. Instead, they should have built their own core technology infrastructure or partnered with reliable Indian technology providers.
He also predicted that top 10 US-Based companies would consider mass layoffs.
At the time, the entrepreneurs who took his advice, seriously would be safeguarded. In fact, Mr PM Modi emphasised the importance of technological self-reliance. He mentioned that indigenous digital infrastructure and data sovereignty should remain a national priority.
With the advent of AI, Cyber security threats have increased, and major technology companies are restructuring their workforces. Therefore, Mr. Kapoor’s predictions have become more relevant. Lets’ discuss.
Build Your Own Core Technology Engine
One of Mr. Kapoor's predictions from four to five years ago was directed particularly at businesses running e-commerce websites and digital platforms. His advice was to Build your own core engine.
Many businesses develop their websites on third-party platforms like WordPress. These are cheaper options, however, also create dependencies. These businesses are always susceptible to security breaches.
Mr. Kapoor believes that businesses should invest in developing their own core technology infrastructure wherever possible. These can be expensive, sometimes more than 20% of your current cost. However, it is better to invest on our own.
For instance, platforms such as AstroKapoor also recognise the importance of having their own core technology and maintaining greater control over their digital operations. Mr. Prashant Kapoor’s message is clear that technological independence is no longer just an advantage. It is becoming an important part of business continuity and security.
Banking System
Banking today depends on multiple layers of technology that involves many components. If one component gets vulnerable, it affects the entire banking system. Mr. Kapoor had predicted years ago that banking security systems needed to be strengthened.
As per the Digital Threat Report 2025-26 which was released by India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology stated that financial sector needed to be more secured because of AI-related threats.
Mr. Kapoor recommends stronger verification process for banking system, rather than just relying on password or OTP.
AI-Based Websites
AI is making website development faster. However, it is also exposing vulnerabilities. Businesses are completely relying on AI for creating their website and do not manually check the coding too.
If these integrations are poorly secured, they could expose sensitive information.
The US Federal Reserve's 2025 cybersecurity report has also highlighted risks arising from third-party technology providers, improperly configured APIs and AI-related security concerns. CERT-In has separately warned about the growing capabilities of AI-driven cyberattacks.
Therefore, businesses should not confuse technological innovation with technological security. And therefore, build their own security systems for their data.
Layoffs
Microsoft announced a voluntary buyout programme covering approximately 60,000 employees across eligible teams and locations. These developments come amid substantial investments in AI infrastructure and changing business priorities.
Mr. Prashant Kapoor believes that this is just the beginning. More companies would let go off their employees.
However, he also mentions that the industry could eventually experience another shift. After reducing their workforce today, some companies may find themselves needing skilled professionals again two to three years later. Because automation cannot necessarily replace every human function.
Financial Markets
According to Mr. Prashant Kapoor’s prediction, the period beginning December 2026 could mark the beginning of an approximately 18-month challenging phase for markets and financial systems.
He anticipates considerable pressure on financial markets and believes that existing financial systems could face serious disruptions. His warning includes the possibility of financial-system instability and even systemic breakdowns.
Conclusion
Prashant Kapoor's predictions from several years ago highlight questions that businesses can no longer afford to ignore.
Technology is evolving rapidly, but dependence on external infrastructure and insufficient data protection can create serious vulnerabilities. Also, the layoffs pose
