It's the question almost everyone brings to an astrologer first, and usually the one they've been carrying the longest: when will I get married?
A marriage timing prediction answers it the way the system actually allows — by identifying the periods your chart indicates as favourable, rather than handing you a date. AstroKapoor's astrologers analyse your birth chart to the exact degree, assess the planets and houses that govern marriage, examine the Navamsa (D9) — the divisional chart marriage is genuinely read from — and map the likely windows across the next five years. [CONFIRM — see §0(d)]
Worth being direct, because this is where most disappointment comes from.
It can indicate: the periods across the coming years that your chart shows as favourable for marriage, what the chart suggests about the nature of the match, whether significant delay is indicated and why, and whether a second marriage is indicated.
It cannot deliver: an exact date. Anyone offering you one is selling a certainty the system does not contain. Astrology indicates windows — periods where the supporting planetary conditions align. Whether a marriage happens inside a window still involves you, your family, your circumstances, and another person entirely.
A note before you read further: if you're here because everyone around you seems to be married and you aren't, please know that a chart doesn't measure your worth and a delay isn't a verdict on you. Marriage timing varies enormously between people, and later is not lesser. What follows is analysis, not judgement.
Marriage isn't the domain of one planet or one house. This is the actual toolkit:
| House / Planet | Sanskrit Name | What It Governs in Marriage |
|---|---|---|
| 7th House | Kalatra Bhava | The spouse, marriage itself, partnership — the primary house |
| 2nd House | Kutumba Bhava | Family expansion, the household formed after marriage |
| 5th House | Putra Bhava | Romance, love affairs, attraction — key to love-marriage indications |
| 11th House | Labha Bhava | Fulfilment of desires, gains through relationships |
| 8th House | Ayu Bhava | Longevity and depth of the bond, in-laws, shared resources |
| Venus (Shukra) | — | Karaka of the spouse; signifies the wife in a man's chart |
| Jupiter (Guru) | — | Signifies the husband in a woman's chart; also blessing and timing |
| Mars (Mangal) | — | Passion, drive, and the mangal dosh consideration |
| Saturn (Shani) | — | Delay, maturity, an older or more serious partner |
| Rahu | — | Sudden, unconventional, or cross-community matches |
| Moon (Chandra) | — | Emotional compatibility and mental harmony |
| Navamsa (D9) | — | The divisional chart from which marriage is genuinely read |
In one line: the 7th house shows the marriage, Venus and Jupiter show the spouse, the 7th lord's dasha shows the timing, and the Navamsa decides how much of it actually materialises.
This is the part free calculators skip, and it's the reason their results are unreliable.
The Navamsa is a divisional chart derived by dividing each sign of your birth chart into nine parts. In classical Vedic astrology it is the chart of marriage and the fruits of life — and no competent marriage reading is done without it.
Why it matters practically: a 7th house that looks strong in the birth chart (D1) can be weak in the Navamsa, and the promise doesn't materialise. A 7th house that looks difficult in D1 can be well-supported in D9, and the marriage is better than the birth chart alone suggested. The D1 shows the promise. The D9 shows the delivery.
A free tool reads your 7th house and generates a paragraph. It cannot assess your Navamsa, your 7th lord's condition, or the dasha sequence — which is precisely why its output is generic and why marriage predictions from calculators so often miss.
Vivah yog (marriage yog) refers to the chart combinations that support marriage. It is read through the relationship between the 7th house and its lord, the condition of Venus and Jupiter, the Navamsa's 7th house, and the connections between the 7th, 2nd, and 11th houses.
Strong vivah yog doesn't mean early marriage — it means the chart supports marriage well when its period activates. Weaker combinations don't mean no marriage; they usually mean the supporting conditions arrive later or require more from you. The presence of the yog is one question. Its timing is a separate one — and timing is what this report is for.
The calculation rests on three layers working together:
1. The dasha sequence. Marriage typically occurs during the mahadasha or antardasha of the 7th lord, of Venus or Jupiter, or of a planet connected to the 7th house. This sets the broad window.
2. Transits (gochar). Jupiter's transit over the 7th house — or over the 7th from the natal Moon — is a classical trigger. Saturn's transits often explain why a window opens later than expected.
3. The Navamsa cross-check. The D9 confirms or qualifies what D1 and the dasha suggest.
Only when all three align does a period qualify as genuinely favourable. This is why an accurate birth time matters so much: it fixes the dasha sequence and the Navamsa, and an error of minutes can shift both.
The most common question after "when," and one that deserves a proper answer rather than an alarming one.
Astrologically, delay is most often associated with Saturn's influence on the 7th house or its lord — Saturn is the planet of maturation and patience, and its involvement tends to bring marriage later rather than not at all. Delay may also reflect a weakly-placed 7th lord, an afflicted Venus or Jupiter, or simply that the supporting dasha period hasn't arrived yet. This last one is the most common cause and the least alarming: nothing is wrong; the window hasn't opened.
Two things worth saying plainly:
Delay is not denial. A chart indicating later marriage is indicating exactly that — later. Saturn's involvement, in particular, is frequently associated with marriages that prove more stable, not less.
Delay is not a defect in you. The volume of anxiety around this question in India far exceeds what the astrology itself supports. If family pressure is the reason you're here, the useful thing a reading gives you is a realistic picture — which is often far less alarming than what you've been told.
Love marriage yog is read through connections between the 5th house (romance and attraction) and the 7th house (marriage). When the 5th and 7th houses or their lords are linked — particularly with Venus involved — the chart leans toward a love match. Rahu's involvement often indicates an unconventional or cross-community match; Jupiter's tends toward the traditional route.
These are indications, not rules. A chart leaning one way doesn't preclude the other, and neither path is astrologically "better." The report tells you what your chart leans toward — the decision remains entirely yours.
If you are divorced or widowed, the question of a second marriage is a real and reasonable one, and the chart addresses it directly.
Second marriage indications are read through the 2nd and 9th houses (traditionally associated with a second partnership), the condition of the 7th lord, and the Navamsa. The report assesses whether remarriage is indicated and the periods that support it — the same analytical approach, applied to a different question.
Where the chart indicates obstacles, personalized remedies are prescribed — remedial astrology for delay in marriage covers this in depth.
How remedies are framed here matters, so let's be clear about it. Remedies in Vedic astrology are prescribed to strengthen a weakly-placed planet — typically through gemstones, mantras, or specific observances. They support conditions; they do not manufacture outcomes. No remedy makes a marriage happen, and any astrologer who says otherwise is selling you something other than astrology.
If your chart shows a favourable period arriving in two years, no remedy compresses that to two months. What remedies can do is support you through the intervening period and strengthen the planetary conditions when the window arrives.

Birth time matters more here than almost anywhere else. It fixes both your dasha sequence and your Navamsa — the two things marriage timing is calculated from. An error of a few minutes can shift both.
If exact birth details aren't available, mention your current time and present location when filling the form. In that case, the analysis is carried out using Prashna Kundli — horary astrology — where the chart is cast from the moment your question is asked rather than the moment of your birth. It's a recognised classical method, not a fallback of convenience.
A fair question that most astrology pages avoid.
Inaccurate birth time is the most common reason. It shifts the dasha sequence and the Navamsa simultaneously, and every downstream prediction inherits the error.
Shallow analysis is the second. Reading the 7th house without the Navamsa, or the mahadasha lord without assessing its placement, produces the generic output free calculators are known for.
And overreach is the third. A window is not a date. When a prediction is stated as a date and the date passes, the failure is in the framing, not the chart. Astrology indicates conditions and timing. It does not remove the involvement of your choices, your family, or another person's free will — and a reading that pretends otherwise was always going to disappoint.
