August 10, 2020: Prediction of Trouble for Shiv Sena
Mr. Kapoor analysed the kundalis of Bal Thackeray, Shiv Sena and Uddhav Thackeray.
Mr. Kapoor mentioned how Mr. Bal Thackeray was the kingmaker and had declared that nobody from his family would ever hold any position in the Government. Mr. Kapoor mentioned that since Uddhav Thackeray became the King and rather the kingmaker, his downfall began.
His predictions also included:
- Shiv Sena would have issues and would eventually be out of government.
- Shiv Sena comeback would be difficult before 2034.
The reality:
- In 2020, Mr. Uddhav Thackeray was the CM. However, 2 years later, Shiv Sena split into 2 factions. Eknath Shinde and a group of ex Shiv Sena members split from the Thackeray group.
- Uddhav Thackeray had to resign due to loss of majority on 29thJune 2022. And Eknath Shinde became the CM the next day.
- Shiv Sena split into 2 rival factions with this development. Both factions claimed the famous Bow and Arrow election symbol. A prolonged legal and political battle followed with the Election Commission of India allowing Eknath Shinde led faction to use the symbol of bow and arrow.
- The split resulted in many Shiv Sena legislators moving with Eknath Shinde. This created a fundamental organisational crisis for Uddhav Thackeray’s faction.
February 2023: Prediction About Uddhav Thackeray
In February 2023, more predictions were made by Mr. Kapoor on Uddhav Thackeray.
As per Uddhav Thackeray’s horoscope:
- Shani had entered the 7thhouse in Jan 2023. This was period where friends could turn into enemies, spelling more trouble for Mr. Thackeray.
- He also mentioned how Mr. Thackeray’s kundali shows a property dispute. This directly means that Matoshree, the Thackeray family private property, could be lost by Uddhav Thackeray.
- 5thhouse shows child problems.
The reality:
- The battle for the claim for real Shiv Sena is still on, where both factions are fighting in the Court as of 2026.
- In March 2025, celebrity manager Disha Salian’s father Mr. Satish Salian named Aaditya Thackeray, the son of Uddhav Thackeray as one of the prime accused in his daughter’s murder.
August 18, 2020: A Different Prediction — Raj Thackeray
Mr. Kapoor made some predictions on Raj Thackeray.
He mentioned how Raj Thackeray is an excellent communicator because of the strength of the 2nd house.
At the same time, Mr. Kapoor predicted political struggles because of the placement of the Moon. He recommended that Raj Thackeray move beyond “state politics” and start speaking about national issues.
He also suggested that Raj Thackeray needed a political guru who was a woman and famously proposed that MNS should become “NS”, implying a transformation beyond its existing regional identity.
Conclusion
Mr. Prashant Kapoor’s 2020 and 2023 predictions provide an interesting case study in political astrology because several of his statements can be compared against clearly dated political events.
His February 2023 prediction about Uddhav Thackeray losing the Chief Minister’s position and the Shiv Sena symbol is particularly striking when viewed against the actual sequence of events: Uddhav had already lost the Chief Ministership, while the Election Commission’s final decision on the Shiv Sena name and symbol came on 17th February 2023.
Predictions made in 2020, well before the Shiv Sena split of 2022 can now be placed alongside a series of extraordinary political events that fundamentally changed the Thackeray family’s position in Maharashtra politics.
