At the stroke of midnight, Krishna aarti is done and Lord Krishna is offered sacred items like milk, curd, sweets, because he always loved sweet things to eat. Songs of Krishna’s birth, and other bhajans are sung to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna.

As per Vedic astrology, during Janmashtami, here are the tips and remedies on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami:

• Engage in Seva or selfless service. Even Lord Krishna believed in giving back selflessly. Since Lord Krishna loved curd, donate curd or feed feast to the needy.
• Since Lord Krishna loved kids, pamper kids by dressing them up and making them eat curd, milk, makhan or something white.

Astrologically, Lord Krishna’s birth is of great significance due to planetary positions. Lord Krishna was born in the Rohini Nakshatra, which is associated with the moon. A strong moon leads to emotional intelligence and creativity, which Lord Krishna was known for during his lifetime.

Jupiter or Brihaspati is also at a good position at the time of Lord Krishna’s birth. Jupiter is associated with compassion, wisdom and divine knowledge, which Lord Krishna was known to have in abundance.

Venus was in a favorable position and it bestowed Lord Krishna with enchanting and attractive personality. Saturn’s position imbibed in him discipline and justice, and so he led humanity to the path of righteousness.

Also, since he was born in darkness, it signifies that he led the world to a path of light from darkness. This also leads to spiritual awakening of humanity because of Krishna’s birth.
