Why Rakshabandhan defines Karmic Bond Between Siblings, Muhurat to tie Rakhi & Vedic Tips for Protection

Rakshabandhan is the pious festival to celebrate the bond between a brother and sister. The name itself means in Sanskrit, bond of protection, obligation and care. Rakshabandhan or Rakhi is as an unbreakable bond that is formed from the day of birth till death. It usually falls on the last day of Shravan, as per Hindu lunar calendar. This year in 2025, Rakshabandhan will be celebrated on 9th August.

Mr.Prashant Kapoor, the best astrologer in India and the world’s 1st medical astrologer, explains about the muhurat when Rakhi should be tied and the vedic tips for protection further in this blog.

As per astrology, this festival of Rakshabandhan aims to solidify the bond between siblings on a karmic level. Since the Moon’s energy is quite strong around the festival, there is a deep emotional bond between brothers and sisters, making them express their deepest feelings and in turn, establish love and commitment towards each other.

In Vishnu Puran, when Lord Vishnu conquered the three worlds from King Bali, King Bali requested Lord Vishnu to stay in his palace. However, that made Goddess Lakshmi unhappy and she tied a rakhi to King Bali and asked him to grant a wish. When King Bali granted the wish, she requested that Lord Vishnu should return home and hence, Lord Vishnu returned to Goddess Lakshmi.

How Rakashabandhan defines Karmic Bond:

  1. Brothers promise to protect their sisters from all sorts of problems.
  2. Brothers promise to support their sisters at every step of their lives.
  3. Sisters pray for the prosperity of the brothers.
  4. A beautiful way to strengthen relationships and familial bond.
