Why ‘Bharat’ Vibrates Higher: Independence Day and Bharat Zaroor wapas kehlayega ‘Sone ki Chidiya’

Bharat or India as the world knows is a developing nation. At a time when the world is pacing ahead, India is also trying to match steps with the world, be in the world of technology, business, medical science etc. And this year, on 15th August, India celebrates its 78th Independence Day. And so, we at Astro Kapoor urge the Indian Government to rename our country as Bharat, for the world. Celebrated astro-numerologist and CEO of AstroKapoor, Akanksha Srivastava, share her insights on the same.

We had also mentioned this in our last year’s blog that India should be renamed as Bharat. https://astrokapoor.com/why-should-india-be-named-bharat-numerology-says-this/

Mrs. Akanksha Srivastava explains why a name change is the key.

In numerology, India adds up to number 3. Number 3 is linked to spirituality and religious bent, and India is known to be a country of spiritual awakening. However, it is also associated with lack of focus, feeling inferior about ourselves, which is also quite similar in Indians.

Bharat’ adds up to 6 which symbolises harmony, balance, and responsibility. It carries a nurturing energy, one that looks after the well-being of others. And when we start calling our country ‘Bharat,’ we would be able to nurture these positive, unifying forces.

Bharat name became popular in the 19th century. It is a shortened version of Bharatvarsha. Also, since Bharatvarsha is a Sanskrit word and Sanskrit has been the Vedic language of India, Bharat as a word holds a very historical importance too for the country. The name Bharat is rooted in the Dharmik aspect of the country and particularly Hinduism.

All of us are aware how Bharat was known as Sone ki Chidiya before we were invaded by many foreign powers including Mughals, Britishers, Dutch, French, Portuguese etc. This glowing country with riches was robbed off its wealth, heritage and also its original name, Bharat.

In our ancient texts like Mahabharat, a larger region of Indosphere is coined by the term Bharat. Other religious texts refer to Bharata people, who are known to be descendants of Dushyant’s son Bharat in Mahabharat. Vishnu Puran mentions: Uttaraṃ yat samudrasya himādreścaiva dakṣiṇam.

varṣaṃ tad bhārataṃ nāma bhāratī yatra santatiḥ.

The country that lies north of the ocean and south of the snowy mountains is called Bharatam there dwell the descendants of Bharat.

When India became independent in 1947, and a new Constitution was drafted, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Bharat as one of country’s two official short names, along with India. However, over the years, the country is known to India and the word Bharat got lost in translation.

In 2023, President Droupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi did use the name Bharat in a G20 gathering, however, that caused more confusion than clarity and the world over, people were left gasping whether the country has undergone a name change.

We at AstroKapoor think that this name change should be made permanent. This will pivot the country to newer heights and we will also be able to reclaim our lost glory.
