Gupt Navratri
Gupta Navratri, also called as Ashadh Navratri is celebrated every year according to the Hindi month of Ashadh (June to July) duirng shukla paksha (waxing phase of moon). In this the worship of mother Durga, and other religious rituals are specifically performed in the early morning and in evening after sunset.
There are four Navratri in a year. There are two known Navratris, one falls in the month of Sharad and Chaitra and other two Navratris fall during the month of Magh and Ashgadh, but these are not known to many. The Sadhus observe these two Navratri and spiritual seeker for winning the blessings of Maa Durga is called as Gupta Navratri or the secret Navratris. It is exclusively done for the pleasing the Maa Durga, and is oberevd by steadfast devotion and sincere worship. One can get the blessings of Maa Durga by devotion and blessings.
There are other names of Gupta Navratri – It is also called as Shakambari Navratri and Shakambari Utsav, Varahi Navratri and Badrakali Navratri.

How Puja is Performed
Duirng the nine days of Navratri, the devotees and spiritual gurus take bath early in the morning and prepare the puja after cleaning, decorate the place with flowers, turmeric paste and vermilion. A red cloth is spread on the place of worship and a picture of idol of Maa Durga is installed in it.
A Puja thali is placed in front of the worship place and Maa Durga is offered prasads including lamp, flowers, kum kum, bangles, bindi, chuni and other things.
The room of the worship is sanctified with the holy Ganga Jal and the lamp is lighted. The sholakas and the mantras are recited on the day in the names of Durga, Durga Chalisa and Durga Saptami. In the end, Durga Arti is performed by singing the song of Amba kali.

Rules of Fasting
Fastinf is observed for nine days. The devotees take one meal a day and preferably supper. Non –vegetarian diet is strictly prohibited during the puja and the rituals. It is also guided not to do any prohibited evil deeds during this period.

Benefits of Gupta Navratri
Gupta Navrati is a very special and matchless occasion and an opportunity to appease Maa Durga. If devotees perform the Puja with devotion, then he or she get the blessings of Maa Durga, and will be healed all the problems of his or her life.
