What Causes Female Infertility?
Female Infertility can be caused by various factors. Female infertility is the most common problem that the world is facing nowadays. Female infertility can be caused by genetic or acquired factors. Conception is the most important aspect of a married healthy female so the incapability to conceive can lead to female infertility.

To become pregnant some factors are considered very essential. These factors can be listed under-

(i) Regular Intercourse is essential-Regular sexual intercourse during fertile period is necessary.
(ii) Fallopian tube and Uterus should be perfect-The egg and semen meet in the fallopian tube and pregnancy need healthy space to grow.
(iii) Ovulation is necessary-Menstrual cycle should be regular.
(iv) Healthy sperm exchange –Your partner should have healthy sperm for fertilization.

Essential factors of Female Infertility
Sexually transmitted disease-Sexually transmitted disease is an important cause that leads to female infertility.

Acquired versus genetic factors-Although female infertility is described as acquired and inherited but it can be defined as a reason of nature and nurture. According to American medical association, acquired depends upon smoking too much/overweight or underweight and sexually transmitted disease.

Age-Female infertility is markedly affected by age. A girl first period age is 12 to 13 years. A women’s fertility is on a peak in the middle of 20’s and it starts declining after 35 years of age. However it has not been yet proved the correct age of the female, sometimes it depends upon the age of the partner also.

Endometriosis-Endometriosis represents about 2 to 3 times more the rate of infertility in the general population For women with endometriosis the chance of getting pregnant gets reduced by 12% to 36%. Endometriosis is a condition in which the lining of the endometrium (uterus) becomes thick. A positive diagnosis occurs by diagnostic laparoscopy in which fallopian tube, uterus and pelvic cavity can be viewed directly. There are four stages of endometriosis-

*Stage I(minimal)
*Stage II (mild)
*Stage III (moderate)
*Stage IV (severe)

The most common symptom of endometriosis is pelvic pain. Other symptoms are mild to extreme pain before menstrual cycle.

Failure to Ovulate-Ovulation disorder is the disorder in which eggs are not released during a correct time for ovulation. It may occur due to. It comes under an acquired aspect of female infertility.

*Polycystic ovarian disease.
*Hypothyroidism
*Hyperthyroidism
*Low body weight.
*High body weight.
*Vitamin and mineral deficiency.

Blocked fallopian tube-It comes under acquired or environmental factors. In this condition, fallopian tube is blocked and as fertilization takes place in the fallopian tube the blocked fallopian tube stops the sperm from fertilization.

Generalised cause– Unhealthy food habit. History of trauma. Excessive use of hormonal pills. Self-medications. History of repeated abortions weakens the endometrial lining that can lead to lifelong infertility.
